In the thrilling universe of professional wrestling, where body slams and high-flying manoeuvres take centre stage, it might be surprising to learn that some of the WWE’s larger-than-life personalities are die-hard fans of another kind of intense competition—the English Premier League. From grappling in the ring to cheering for their favourite football teams, these WWE superstars showcase a passion that extends beyond the squared circle.

John Cena – Tottenham Hotspur FC

Known for his “Never Give Up” mantra, John Cena’s allegiance lies with Spurs. The 16-time world champion has been spotted sporting Tottenham jerseys and has openly expressed his love for the North London club. Cena was invited to Spurs’ old stadium White Hart Lane back in 2017, but has yet to visit the new state-of-the-art Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Or maybe he has and we’ve not seen him there? 😉

Sheamus – Liverpool FC

Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Sheamus is a proud supporter of Liverpool FC. The Celtic Warrior has been seen celebrating Liverpool goals on social media and attending matches at Anfield. Sheamus brings the same intensity to cheering for the Reds as he does to the ring. What do you think is more intimidating – the prospect of a Brogue Kick, or The Kop in full voice? Tough one.

The Miz – Chelsea FC

The most must-see WWE superstar today, The Miz proudly supports Chelsea. The charismatic wrestler has been known to tweet about The Blues and when appearing on Sky Sports News, he confessed his love for the club. He also gave presenter Jim White a little taster of his finishing manoeuvre; The Skull Crushing Finale!

MVP – Manchester United

Montel Vontavious “MVP” Porter is in fact a lifelong Manchester United fan. Despite his roots in Miami, Florida, he grew up watching Premier League football and would discover a connection with The Red Devils. MVP’s football knowledge is impressive, he knows his history and has attended many Man Utd games, the ex United States champion is no stranger to Old Trafford.

Drew McIntyre – Rangers FC

While not in the Premier League, Scottish powerhouse Drew McIntyre is a fervent supporter of Rangers FC in the Scottish Premiership. The former WWE Champion has shared his excitement for Rangers’ successes on social media, whilst making no secret of his disdain for fierce rivals Celtic. Be honest, you’re imagining Drew Claymore kicking a ball into the top corner now, aren’t you?

Triple H – West Ham United

In the realm of sports entertainment, few names carry as much weight as Triple H. The WWE executive and wrestling legend is revelling in his role of shaping the future of the industry. Outside the ring, Triple H, whose real name is Paul Levesque, is a devoted supporter of West Ham United. The Cerebral Assassin has been photographed donning West Ham gear, proudly displaying his allegiance to the Hammers.

The relationship between WWE superstars and Premier League fandom adds an exciting layer to the global sports landscape. Whether these wrestlers are playfully bantering about their favourite teams or passionately defending their club’s honour, it’s clear that the thrill of competition extends far beyond the confines of the wrestling ring.
