It took him a while, but Man Utd’s Rasmus Hojlund is on fire at the moment and he’s lighting up the Premier League.

Having arrived at Old Trafford last summer following a whopping £72M move from Serie A side Atalanta, and it’s fair to say he initially may have felt the weight of expectation. But recently Hojlund has well and truly found his feet and is showing everybody why The Red Devils saw fit to part with such a substantial sum to acquire his services.

Having notched up five goals in the Champions League, it was clear the 21-year-old knew where the goal was, but he struggled to replicate his form in the English top flight. Despite watching their side crash out of Europe, Hojlund’s performances were a source of hope for United fans, and many wondered when he would break his domestic duck.

It would be a boxing day special for Hojlund, as the Denmark international scored his first Premier League goal against Aston Villa last December, netting the winner in a 3-2 victory. Since then, a fire has ignited within him and recently he’s been in unbelievable form.

Hojlund has scored seven goals in his last six matches, including his most recent brace against Luton. The former Atalanta man has become one of the youngest players to score in six successive Premier League games. With names such as Mohamed Salah and Thierry Henry currently occupying that list, he’s certainly in good company, and he has a shot at breaking the record set by Jamie Vardy – which is currently 11 consecutive games.

Man Utd are currently on a four match winning run in the league, and a big reason for their upturn in form is Hojlund’s prolificacy in front of goal. His understanding with fellow frontmen Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford is seemingly growing weekly, and it will certainly have Man Utd supporters feeling optimistic for a strong end to the season.
